Numerical cfd simulation in support to the eurotrans integral system experiment 2-spacer grid and lower grid assembly pressure drops

This note deals with a 3D CFD numerical simulations in support to the EUROTRANS Integral Test Experiment (T4.5.3) held by Enea-Brasimone. First, the LBE flow along the pin assembly has been simulated, and the evaluation of the pressure loss due to a single grid spacer is done. Second, we evaluate the pressure losses due to a junction between an empty cylindrical pipe and an hexagonal pipe filled by the pin assembly. The junction is done by mean of a special perforated plate. Results are shown and shortly discussed.
