This study was conducted on issues of imaging and processing of real marine seismic data obtained in the Atlantic eastern Brazilian continental shelf. The central application aims at interpretation of sedimentary basins in order to obtain an image of subsurface by stack and migration methods for petroleum exploration. The geological model is described in marine environments of Brazilian passive basins, and the models justify the presence of layers with curved interfaces, and also horizontal structures that serve as guides to interpret geometrically complex structures with different shapes as anticlines, sinclines, horizontal and vertical discontinuities. The selected real data used in this work is a marine line that is part of a set of seismic data from the Atlantic coast of eastern Brazil. This data is characterized by: a length of 38km; the ocean bottom line varies from 300m to 1500m depth; the multiples between the free surface and the ocean bottom are always present and strong; the stacked sections show differential spectral content; and the minimum offset section was used to establish a general picture that serves as a guide to obtain results for further processing and imaging techniques. The flowchart of the CRS-based data driven stacking method becomes an integral part of the seismic data processing, and its attributes allows for further processing and migration applications.
